The City of San Diego purchased a 14 year-old three-story, 73,000 square foot office building to house the Environmental Services Department and the Inspection Services Division of the Development Services Department. This project renovated that building as a green demonstration project, in partnership with building industry product and service vendors who meet certain standards for manufacture, energy use, recycled content and waste generation. The project provided office space, a training facility for use by City departments and other agencies, various meeting support facilities and shower/locker rooms. The Project was awarded the San Diego Gas & Electric 1995 Savings through Design Award.
