Platt/Whitelaw Architects, Inc. is providing comprehensive architectural services for the design and construction of a new elementary school to be located in the Logan Heights area of southeast San Diego.

Laura Rodriguez Elementary School will house 750 to 950 students. The architectural program includes 32 classrooms, administration facilities, a 4,891 square foot library, a multi-purpose building with a proscenium stage, a covered lunch court, playgrounds and a turfed playing field. The building area totals 55,000 square feet.

The design incorporates the best practices of the Collaborative for High Performance Schools, including sustainable design, energy conservation, natural ventilation, day lighting and acoustical control.
