Mission Pointe Lutheran Church
Mission Pointe Church intends to build a permanent facility in The Preserve at Chino, a master planned community which has been developed in the City of Chino according to a New Urbanism design philosophy of creating strong community and walkable neighborhoods. The Church believes that these philosophies align closely with their own, for they aspire to make the Church a neighborhood amenity, open and accessible to all, which will:
Accommodate a wide range of activities
Be a neighborhood center for the Arts
Provide activated indoor & outdoor spaces
Be a witness to the link between Ancient and Future
Be a model of environmental stewardship
The property will be developed as a campus with multiple buildings serving various community as well as church functions. The site has been designed as a landscaped park-like setting that accommodates various outdoor activities and links to The Preserve’s system of paseos. It will include a church office facility, a coffee shop, preschool facilities (administration, classrooms and multipurpose room), a worship center including performance and meeting space, community center facilities (meeting rooms, kitchen, classrooms, library, and retail space), an amphitheater, and a gymnasium facility (weight room, dance room, lockers/restrooms, administration). Project design and construction will be phased in alignment with the Church’s fund raising program.
The project is designed to reflect the Church’s core philosophies. The architecture evokes a link between the past and the future by incorporating design features, materials and technology that respect the needs of future generations and contribute toward the goal of environmental stewardship. It will be designed to an equivalent of a Silver LEED rating. The approach to such issues as landscaping, drainage and parking has been developed in consonance with City of Chino requirements, and the design guidelines and goals of the City and The Preserve at Chino.
