“The responsibility of design means creating a building that will serve its users and its community now and into the future.”
What drew you to architecture?
I grew up in Britain during Post World War II reconstruction and saw first-hand the best and the worst works by Architects and Planners. It is inspiring to see communities, devastated by the destruction of war, rising from the ashes to become healthy and vibrant again.
What aspects of it give you satisfaction?
I am in constant awe of the responsibilities we have in the creation of a built environment that respects the natural environment and serves generations to come, long after we are gone.
What are your other interests?
Grandchildren are the best invention since gardening, I love them both! I am also a fan of the performing arts and support many local theatre groups: Theatre and Architecture can both elevate the human spirit.
